Opened in 1735, the passage du Commerce Saint-André bound the street St André des arts to the street de l’Ancienne-Comédie. In 1776, it was prolonged towards the street des Boucheries. L' ampliación del Tribunal de Justicia implicará la expropiación de varias casas en 1854 y 1880. Se rebautizará la parte incluida entre el Pont Neuf y la antigua calle de Jerusalén, construida de 1580 a 1643 y que llevará a partir del origen el nombre de muelle des Orfèvres (de los Orfebres), se rebautizará muelle du Midi durante la Revolución. Las casas construidas a lo largo del río se demolirán en la construcción actual del muelle, en 1807.
