Ce qu'il ne faut pas oublier c'est que la Bretagne fut une terre très croyante. Cela se retrouve dans ses dolmens, ses cromlech, la forêt de Brocéliande et après dans ses calvaires, ses chapelles et ses pardons. Elle a toujours su faire appel à la protection des dieux ou de Dieu pour affronter les colères de la mer ou la pauvreté de ses landes.

Lors d'une kermesse paroissiale : ma mère à cheval avec deux cousines et un illustre inconnu. Ma mère porte un costume semblable à celui que ma grand-mère portait pour les fêtes. Ma grand-mère a porté la coiffe quotidiennement et c'était tout un art que de la poser bien ! C'est le costume de Douarnenez dans le Finistère. My grandmother wore every day the headgear and it was a whole art to put it well indeed ! It is the suit of Douarnenez in Finistère
